The AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot was an affordable hotel for my stay in Paris. Although it is a bit removed from the traditional tourist areas, it is in a nice and quiet part of Paris, and is a few minutes walking away from a metro station. After staying at the JW Marriott Berlin at the top of the trip, and then the Courtyard by Marriott in Prague, I was happy to try out this AC Hotel.

The lobby was very modern, featuring wood accents throughout the space. There are two podiums for check-in, although only one was staffed when I arrived.

Upon providing my passport to the staff, they recognized my Platinum elite status, and let me know I had been upgraded to a Deluxe room. Additionally, I was informed of the complimentary breakfast I had access to thanks to my status, which is available from 7:30AM to 11:00AM daily.
Room & Features

My stay for the two nights was in room 624, which is a Deluxe room.

The layout of the room feels spacious. Upon entering, you’re greeted by the “living room” area, which features a sofa, small coffee table, desk, TV, and coffee/minibar area.

On the other side was the “bedroom” area, which featured the bed, another TV, and the entrance to the shower, bathtub, and sink.

Having both the tub and walk-in shower option was interesting.

Even more peculiar was the placement of the toilet,. which is located next to the hotel room door, and is awkwardly hanging out alone.

The room also came equipped with an ironing board, and iron, a pair of bathrobes, a safe, and in the drawers you could find the laundry service form and their prices.

As is the case across most if not all Marriott Bonvoy hotels, high speed Wi-Fi is complimentary for all Marriott Bonvoy Gold members and higher.
Dining & Room Service

The AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot has one restaurant on the premises, named Gus restaurant. Here, the hotel hosts an American breakfast buffet in the mornings, and offers lunch and dinner service throughout the afternoon. The Gus bar is also open for drinks from 12:00PM to 11:30PM daily. If you’re looking for something faster, the hotel also has a grab-and-go option near the check-in area.

This breakfast buffet was very well served, featuring all your traditional staples, such as breads and grains.

Plenty of breads actually.

There were also yogurts and veggies.

Cold cuts and fruits, with different milk options.

And even more bread, such as pancakes, French toast, and waffles with jams and spreads.

The hot food available included scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, vegetables, basmati rice, and Spanish-style tortillas.

There were also juices and water.

Along with a coffee station.

Amenities & Facilities
Fitness Center

The fitness center features a variety of cardio machines and free weights.

There is also a water station to stay hydrated.
Value & Redemption
I managed to book the AC Hotel for 30,000 Bonvoy Points. The cash rate was approximately $200, and I was seeking a more affordable option. Thankfully, I had enough points to cover the stay, and although the hotel is in the 17th arrondissement, the Porte Maillot subway station makes the rest of the city accessible.
Final Verdict: AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot
The AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot was a great option. It is a modern hotel that offers comfortable accommodations, and despite its location, it felt very well-connected if you’re willing to walk to the nearest subway station. The breakfast buffet was great, and the room was very nice and spacious for Paris. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
