I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially, benefits) to write this Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma review. Any airport, airline, lounge, hotel, and or loyalty program policies may have changed since then.
Following my flight from Bogota in Avianca Business Class, I made my way over to Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma. This is an all-suite hotel, which is a surprising luxury to find in a city as large and impressive as Mexico City! While the space was nice and comfortable, there were a few reasons why I’d choose to stay at the nearby Sheraton Maria Isabel if I’m looking for a Bonvoy property in the same area.

Arrival & Check-In
The check-in process at the Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma was straightforward. Upon arrival, they asked for my passport and credit card, and quickly checked me in and informed me of the amenities and services available on the property.
Room & Features

My room entrance was nestled into this little corridor, which made it feel even more lux.

My stay would be in room 1605, which was a nice king bed suite.
Living Room

Upon entering, you’ll notice that the suite has two distinct areas, a living room space to watch TV, and a dining area with a kitchenette area.

Over by the TV, the “living area” features plush armchairs and a sofa, with a coffee table for some conversations and relaxation.

Opposite was the dining area, where a small dining table with three seats was available, next to a kitchenette.

At the kitchenette, you could find a sink, mugs, coffee and tea, an ice bucket, complimentary bottled water, and a coffee maker. A microwave also sat under the bar.

The coffee and tea selection was in a basket.

On the left side under the sink, you’ll find the mini-fridge.

To the right of the kitchenette, you’ll find a corridor where the restroom and an additional sink are located.
Restroom
The restroom is located on the left down the corridor. I’d say that while functional, it felt a little outdated.

There was a tub and shower combo, and the restroom was well lit, if not too coldly lit. Somehow, it didn’t feel natural or comfortable being in there with the cold lighting, it felt like a doctor’s office.

As is expected at these foreign Bonvoy properties, there were amenities in the restroom, such as a vanity kit, a shower cap, and a shoe mitt to clean shoes. Le Meridien partners with Malin+Goetz, so the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were all from the Malin+Goetz

Right outside the restroom and bedroom doors was another vanity and faucet, presumably so two people could get ready at the same time.
Bedroom
The room was spacious with plenty of space to stretch out!

There was a nice TV set up, where there was also a desk area to work. This would’ve been nice, however, given the fact that you have a nice dining table to work at in the living room, I didnt’ end up using this desk space.

On the side was the closet, where you could find an iron, ironing board, hangers, a laundry bag and menu for laundry services, a luggage rack, and a safe.

Additionally, there was hotel information available.

Dining
Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma offers La Gloriosa as the main hotel restaurant, where breakfast is held. Hours are from 6AM-11PM, daily. If you’re looking for a cocktail, the Latitude Bar is open from 4PM-11PM daily. Room service is also available.

The comprehensive breakfast buffet, which was complimentary for me as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, had plenty of fresh items on offer, including fruits, yogurt, cheese, spreads, etc.

There were vegetables and cold cuts as well.

They had breads and pastries, including traditional Mexican conchas!

They also had hot food items, including eggs and bacon. You could also ask for made-to-order eggs or omelets. All-in-all, I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the breakfast, despite it’s offerings. Nothing was quite tasty or memorable.
Amenities & Facilities

Amenities at Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma include a heated pool with a hot tub, and a fitness center.

Additionally, the hotel offers laundry service, room service.
Location & Accessibility
Location can be everything, and Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma is located on Paseo de la Reforma, one of the city’s most important avenues, near historic sites like the Angel of Independence and Chapultepec Park. This are is also an important economic and political district of Mexico City, within walking distance of financial institutions and government buildings.
Final Verdict: Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma Review
Le Meridien Mexico City Reforma is a great Bonvoy option in Mexico City. However, after staying at the Sheraton Maria Isabel, I realized that the hotel could take another step up. While the room was spacious and comfortable, it did seem tired, and in need of an uplift. Seems that the hotel has gone through some renovations, so hopefully that brings fresher rooms (that I will review soon).
The breakfast was a bit of a let-down, which of course could easily be avoided by eating out. However, when I want to tackle the day, I like to grab some food before leaving the hotel so I can holdover to lunch or dinner. Additionally, not having a lounge isn’t a problem since Mexico City has world-class restaurants, but it is always nice to have a place to grab complimentary water, soft drinks, and coffee.
The value, however, was great. This hotel had a balanced set of pros and cons, but I’d ultimately say that, at the right price, this hotel is worth a shot.
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
