Relaxing in Luxury: Singapore SilverKris First Class Lounge HKG

After spending time at United’s Global First Lounge (which you can read all about here!!!), I decided to see Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris Lounge, which is the primary lounge for Lufthansa’s premium cabin passengers.
You can access the SilverKris lounge if you are flying in Business or First Class on Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa Airlines, or with Star Alliance Gold status. Upon getting there, you present your boarding pass to the front desk and they will lead you to the appropriate lounge area depending on your travel class.
I walked into the First Class area, which was fairly large in comparison to the United Global First lounge. It was quiet and refreshing with plenty of seating, including nice little suite that is similar to the United Polaris Lounge Signature seat. I took one of those and made myself comfortable.
The attendant that walked me into the first class area handed me an a la carte menu that read as follows:
I decided to order the Pan-fried Salmon fillet to get some omega-3 into my body (was my excuse to order food). Although I didn’t see the breakfast or lunch menus, only four dinner options seems quite limited, especially compared to the ten options offered at the United Global First Lounge, however there was an actual buffet in this lounge.
I decided to walk around the lounge while the order was being prepared, and snapped some pics of the seating area and the buffet spread.
You can’t forget about the booze!
I went back to my little cubicle of a seat to check on my stuff, and about a minute later my a la carte order arrived.
Despite it being smaller than I expected, it was just perfect considering I had eaten the beef entree at the Global First Lounge. It was a well-seasoned piece of salmon, although I did want more vegetables than just two carrot sticks and a piece of broccoli.
After finishing the salmon, I headed out to the Business Class section of the lounge, which was larger and better lit with brighter color accents. I proceeded to snap some pics before heading out.
There were more buffet options in the Business Class section, but the First Class a la carte service makes up for the missing options.
I have to say that I was at this lounge years ago (2011ish), and the lounge then was dim and dungeon-y, with a ton of seating and the only lit (not like a party) area being the buffet area. Since then, at some point the lounge was remodeled, and has a fresh and contemporary feel to it. There are still some pictures of the old lounge that can be found here it’s LoungeBuddy page.
Verdict:
This is a great lounge that offers an extensive food spread in comparison to the Global First Lounge. If you want a quiet experience, I think the Global First Lounge is better choice. It is smaller and doesn’t get too full, allowing you to work without much interruption or noise. If you’d like to have a more expanded dining experience that includes a salad bar and various petite desserts, I would recommend Singapore’s lounge. It has more seating, and the cubicle style seats that makes it into a more functional work space.
At the end of the day, if you’re flying First Class, visit all three first class lounges to see which you prefer! Thai’s First Class area has a massage chair, so that may interest you as well!
