I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially and/or benefits) to write the following post.
After flying in from San Francisco in United’s Polaris Business Class cabin, and spending a restful night at the Courtyard by Marriott Taipei, I arrived at Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport excited to see one of the four lounges EVA Air offers: The Infinity Lounge.
When you get to the upper level, “The Club” will be one of the fist lounges you see. To the right and down the corridor of “The Club” is the Singapore SilverKris lounge, which you can read about in my review here:
If you keep going down the corridor, you will find two massage stations which employ blind people, and if you keep going you will find the main entrance to the Plaza Premium Lounge, and across from that entrance is the China Airlines lounge. Keep going and take a left at the end of the corridor, and you will find the entrances for “The Garden” and the “Star/Infinity.”
Upon entering and checking in with the front desk, you will be instructed to head left into “The Star,” or right into “The Infinity” lounge, as they are both housed in the same area. Access based on each lounge is as follows according to EVA Air’s website:
- “The Star”: BR Infinity MileageLands – Gold card and Star Alliance – Gold card members can access to use the Star lounge.
- “The Infinity”: BR Royal Laurel/ Premium Laurel/ Business Class and Star Alliance First/Business Class travelers can access to use the Infinity lounge.
- “The Club”: BR Infinity MileageLands – Silver card members can access to use the Club lounge.
- “The Garden”: BR Infinity MileageLands – Diamond card members can access the Garden lounge.
Upon entering the Infinity, you will notice a hall of lockers to the right which you can use to put your luggage in by asking the front desk. At the end of the hall where the lockers are, you will find a maternity station and a restroom for individuals with disabilities.
If you go straight ahead, you will see the main seating areas in addition to the modern design of the lounge.
I decided to sit at the end of the corridor, giving me access to an outlet to charge all my tech. After settling in, I decided to go look at the food spread in the lounge, which had some great offerings.
I have to say that the mixed vegetables and the vegetarian options were pretty good, as I found myself getting those options more than once.
They also had soups and dumplings available, which I didn’t really try as I was getting full with the other great food options!
For dessert, there were some pastries and Häagen-Dazs ice cream, including a rum and raisin ice cream that I cannot stop thinking about…
Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of the salad bar and the “American Hot Dog station” they had in the lounge, but if you would like to have an even closer look into the Infinity Lounge, or any of EVA Air’s other lounges, EVA has provided a Google Maps view of their lounges with the “Watch 720 virtual tour”, which you can see here: EVA Air’s Lounge page.
Verdict
At the end of the day, I think this is a great lounge to relax in for a while, and I got to Taoyuan airport early because I didn’t know what to expect, and I wanted to review this lounge. Although it offers a unique and modern atmosphere, and offers great food options, my conclusion is that its great but not worth going to the airport early for.
