I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially, benefits) to write this SAS A330 Plus Class review. Any airport, airline, lounge, hotel, and loyalty program policies may have changed since then.
Trip: DCA-IAH, IAH-HRL, BRO-IAH, IAH-LAX, Westin LAX, LAX-ORD, ORD-LHR, Sheraton Skyline Heathrow, Moxy Heathrow, LHR-CDG, Courtyard Paris Saint Denis, CDG-FRA, FRA-CPH, Moxy Copenhagen Sydhavnen, CPH-BOS
Following my trips to the Aspire Lounge CPH and the SAS Lounge Copenhagen (formerly the SAS Gold Lounge), it was time to finally board my flight back to the U.S. with SAS. I booked this premium economy flight with Air France Flying Blue points, thanks to the tool PointsYeah (not sponsored, I just really love the tool).

Seat & Cabin

The SAS Plus cabin features a 2-3-2 configuration, offering recliner seats that feature a footrest and great recline.

The cabin features 56 seats, embodying Scandinavian neutrality. Today’s seat was 20A, a window seat on the left side of the plane.

Waiting at my seat was a blanket and pillow. Seat pitch is approximately 38 inches, with a width of 18.3 inches.

The danger with bulkhead seats can be the reduced legroom, and while it was a little tighter, it wasn’t bad. For reference, I’m 6’1″.

The seat featured buttons to recline and deploy your leg rest.

There were additional buttons on the other arm rest.

On the side of the seat, you can also find a power outlet.

In the center console, you can deploy a small drink tray.

Your in-flight entertainment screen comes out from the middle console as well, and has a USB port and audio jack.
Dining & Beverages
Once in the air, meal service began. We started off by receiving a cashew bag, and I ordered a Coca-Cola, water, and red wine.

The complimentary snack was a vegetable sandwich, and I ordered a Coke for my drink.

Next, the meal tray was served. It came with the main entree, a smoked salmon appetizer, a bread roll, some crackers, cheese, butter, a raspberry dessert, and a coffee cup.

The main dish was chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach, and other root vegetables.

To finish, I got a cup of coffee. The cup was plastic though, and that made me feel just slightly uneasy.

The pre-arrival meal was an orzo and salad main with cold cut and a roll with a pack of crackers.
In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity
SAS offers in-flight WiFi and entertainment onboard. On flights to from Asia, Canada and the US, the price is 119 DKK, 149 NOK, 149 SEK, 16 EUR, 16 USD, 20 CAD or 3,000 EuroBonus points.

Of course, the entertainment screen provided me all the entertainment I needed!
Amenities

As I had noted, there was a blanket and pillow waiting at my seat.

The pillow had a nice SAS tag, which was a nice little touch.

Next were the amenity kits, which were wrapped as a little roll.

Turns out, it’s a shoe bag!

In the shoe bag, there was an eye-mask, a dental kit, and some (very industrial) ear plugs.
Lavatory

The lavatories were pretty clean throughout the flights, but were pretty tight.
Final Verdict: SAS Plus Airbus A330
SAS Plus is a fantastic premium economy experience for anyone looking to upgrade their flight, but not quite ready to make the jump to business class. I will say that my redemption rate with Air France Flying Blue was fantastic, so your mileage may vary depending on whether you purchase SAS Plus with points or cash. But if the question is whether its a solid experience, I can confidently say yes, it is. Catering won’t blow you away, but the food seemed to be fresh and tasty enough. The seats were more comfortable than I thought they’d be, and the amenity kit was a nice little perk. All in all, a fantastic option if you’re looking to fly more comfortably.
Overall Rating: 8.75/10
