Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, serving as a vital link within Scandinavia and to destinations across the globe from their main hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm. This was my first time flying them in SAS Plus (soon to be renamed Premium Class), which is their “premium” European product, and while it is fine it isn’t quite as good as I believed it would be. This was the second portion of my trip from Copenhagen to London, which had a connection in Stockholm.

Seat & Cabin
SAS’s “neo” fleet is fairly new, clean, and comfortable with all the expectations of a Nordic interior cabin. It is laid out in the traditional 3-3 configuration that you’d find in economy. However, where almost, if not all, European airlines had intra-Europe Business Class in traditional economy seating with the middle seat blocked, SAS Plus has no such middle seat blocked. This means you could have someone sit in the middle seat on your intra-EU business class flight, although it seems to be relatively rare.

Dining & Beverages
No options were given for the meal service, just a question on whether we were going to dine on the flight or not. A meal box was provided with the drink service, and I opted to take the meal box along with my coffee.

The box said North Atlantic shrimp, containing a salad with shrimp, quinoa, Rhode Island cream that really was more of a russian dressing, and cucumber.

The salad was chilled, and also came with grain crackers and a cutlery kit.

While it was relatively healthy, I would recommend finding some food prior to the flight, or skipping the meal altogether. Although for dessert, we did get these lovely truffles.

In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity
SAS has wifi on board its aircraft, with access starting at 29 Danish krone, 39 Norwegian krone, 39 Swedish krone, 3,90 euros, or 800 EuroBonus points. This provides you with wifi access throughout the flight. If you are traveling in SAS Business or are a Gold or Diamond member, you can enjoy free surfing during the entire journey.
Final Verdict
Service on this flight was nothing special, although I will say the crew were preppy and nice, but nothing above and beyond. The food was not great, and the seat was no different to the same seats you get in economy. I can confidently say that SAS Plus is not worth paying outright for, and probably not worth placing a bid for an upgrade either.
Overall Rating: 6/10
