The Copa Club’s newest location at Panama City’s Tocumen Airport, located in Terminal 2, is one of the airline’s flagship lounges serving passengers flying on Copa Airlines and Star Alliance partner flights through the “Hub of the Americas.” This provides even more space for travelers in Panama City and has upgraded amenities that make it a welcome upgrade to the older lounges in Terminal 1. Here is my Copa Club Panama Terminal 2 review.
Overview: Copa Club Panama Terminal 2 review
Lounge: Copa Club (Terminal 2)
Access: Star Alliance Gold (United Premier 1K ) / United Business Class
Flying: United Business Class
Located: Terminal 2, up the elevator or escalators near gate 208
Date: January 18, 2024

Access and Hours
The Copa Club is accessible to passengers flying in business class on Copa Airlines or a Star Alliance partner, or any Star Alliance Gold member flying on a Star Alliance flight. United Club members and one guest traveling on a departing Star Alliance flight are also welcome.
Passengers with Flying Blue Gold status and up traveling on KLM and Air France have access, in addition to KLM and Air France passengers flying Business Class from Panama to Europe. Iberia passengers that have Oro, Platino, or Infinita status flying to Europe can also access the louunge.
Access is also available to passengers with Priority Pass, Lounge Key, Diners Club, and Lounge Pass up to 3 hours before your flight.
The lounge is open daily from 5:30am to 9pm.
Lounge

The lounge is quite spacious, boasting a size of 1,925 square meters (or nearly 21,000 square feet), with capacity for 420 people. It is located in the newer Terminal 2, up the elevator or escalators near gate 208

Seating
The lounge features several seating areas, with excellent lighting throughout the lounge.

The lounge also has a double sided bar that divides the “inside” portion of the lounge to the terrace, which overlooks the terminal.

There was also an entertainment room, and although I didn’t manage to snap pics, there is also a family area and a “Quiet Room,” which features daybed-type seats for lounging. The lounge also features shower facilities, but you have to ask the receptionist for availability.

Refreshments
Food is available at the only food station, featuring small and basic refreshments, including finger foods, coffee, and sodas.

The sandwiches included some sort of chicken salad, ham and cheese, and a vegetarian option. There were also carrot sticks and bell pepper with ranch and hummus.

The soda was dispensed through a touchscreen dispenser, which had Latin American Coke product options available.

There are also a business center featuring cubicles and private phone rooms for those who need to get some work done during their time there.

There is also a luggage area to store your bags, however, I didn’t see anyone using it. Apologies for the blurry picture.

Copa Club Panama Terminal 2 Review Conclusion
The Copa Club in Panama City’s Terminal 2 is a welcome upgrade from the older facility found in Terminal 1. The amenities offered are solid, such as the entertainment room, quiet room, and showers. However, the food offered leaves much to be desired. The most substance you can score is what you’d likely get in a party platter at a supermarket, which is not what I’d want from a premium lounge.
I will say that the airy and open atmosphere of the lounge, coupled with the chic furniture and fixtures give the lounge a fresh and sophisticated feel that is sorely lacking at their Terminal 1 location. This new flagship lounge is a fantastic representation of the new Copa Club vibe (like the Bogota lounge), and I am excited to see them update or build new locations in their profitable or high traffic destinations.
Have you had a chance to visit the Copa Club in Panama City? What were your thoughts?
