After checking out the international Centurion Lounge in Mexico City’s Terminal 1, I made my way over to the United Club Mexico City.

The United Club Mexico City, in Terminal 1 on the international side, is an older lounge that offers a decent refuge for United’s premier customers.

Atmosphere & Seating

The United Club Mexico City is a dated airline lounge. At reception, you’ll check in and see that the lounge is split into two areas. Usually they’ll direct you to the right, but I decided to head left first.

United Club Mexico City seating

The lounge was mostly empty when I arrived around 7:15AM. The left-side seating area looked refreshed and had a self-serve bar, but generally doesn’t have food; years ago when I visited they had small sandwiches and chips, but this time, nothing was available.

United Club Mexico City desk area

On the same left side, there’s a work area with desks.

United Club Mexico City right side seating

The right side is the lounge’s “main” side, hosting the bar and food spread.

Food & Beverage

United Club Mexico City food

The United Club Mexico City has a food spread in the back that often features a mix of American and Mexican dishes.

United Club Mexico City food

They have a mix of warm and cold options. During my visit, this included a turkey omelet, Spanish-style tortilla, bacon, and red chilaquiles.

United Club Mexico City cold food

On the other side you’ll find cold items, such as fruit, yogurts, cheese, cereals, etc.

United Club Mexico City self-serve bar

There’s also another self-serve bar with a coffee station, liquor, and soft drinks and beer under the bar.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity

Complimentary WiFi was available and worked well.

Cleanliness & Facilities

The lounge was overall kept tidy and clean. Granted, it was also so early in the morning, I was one of the first to arrive.

United Club Mexico City restrooms

There are also restrooms in the lounge, which are dated yet clean.

Amenities

There were no other amenities to report.

Final Thoughts & Verdict: United Club Mexico City Review

The United Club Mexico City is one of United’s international lounge locations, and honestly isn’t as bad as people make it seem. Is it the newest? No. Does it have the best amenities and food? Also no. But it is a solid place to take a seat, get some snacks and drinks, and get away from the hectic terminal before your flight. In my book, that makes it a solid lounge, no matter how dated it may be. That being said:

  • Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Depends. Much like my take on the international Centurion Lounge in Terminal 1, I’d arrive for a drink and a snack before flying out if I have access, but not to actually spend more than an hour. This is especially true if you have access and you’re flying in United Economy, which I realized doesn’t offer complimentary meal service on even their longer routes to Washington Dulles and Newark.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10
