After visiting the very mid Aspire Lounge Copenhagen, I made my way to the SAS Lounge Copenhagen, which was on the way to my SAS flight to Boston.

The SAS Lounge Copenhagen is a nice reprieve from the busy terminal in Copenhagen.

- Guest policy: Guest access varies according to your status, ticketed cabin, and access method.
- Credit cards or memberships accepted: None.
I accessed the SAS Lounge Copenhagen thanks to my Vietnam Airlines LotusMiles Platinum status, which gives me SkyTeam Elite Plus. However, it was a hassle because the name Vietnam Airlines has for my LotusMiles account wasn’t exactly the same it appeared on my SAS boarding pass, which made entering the lounge difficult. The lovely lounge agent and I had a good laugh about how much easier it was when it was Star Alliance, and she let me into the SAS Gold Lounge, which was the flagship lounge that has since been merged into the SAS Lounge Copenhagen.
Atmosphere & Seating
Upon arriving to the SAS Lounge Copenhagen, you’ll notice that it feels pretty modern and minimalist within an expansive space.
The lounge is approximately 32,000 square feet, and is built out across two floors. I was admitted into the now defunct SAS Gold Lounge, which has since been folded into the SAS Lounge, allowing for more space to alleviate crowding in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.
I personally really like the ambiance of the lounge, with the hardwood floors, warm-ish lighting, and spacious feel.
There were plenty of seats upstairs, and yet it was still quite busy. Downstairs seemed to have been even more hectic, which explains why SAS is now merging these flagship lounges into one single entity.
Food & Beverage
The SAS Lounge Copenhagen has plenty of food on offer, particularly when it comes to their cold offerings. Several salads and vegetables were offered.
They had cheese, and other cold foods and dressings.
The hot food was basically gone, and I wasn’t hungry enough nor was I in the lounge long enough to see what they were serving.
A bread station was available next to one of the beverage stations, which itself was next to a soup station.
There was another beverage station that offered red, white, and sparkling wines. Further down was a beer station.
In another section of the lounge there was another beer and wine station.
You can’t forget the impressive coffee bar, where they had baristas making coffee orders and also had desserts and pastries around to enjoy with the coffee. I asked the barista to make me her signature coffee, and it was phenomenal.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary WiFi was available and was pretty fast.
Cleanliness & Facilities
The lounge overall was kept tidy and clean, despite the hectic hour.
Amenities
The SAS Lounge Copenhagen has several amenities available to guests. These amenities include conference rooms, a sleeping or resting area, two enclosed bedrooms, two conference rooms, two business centers, and shower suites.
The business areas also had some computers.
To use some of the facilities, such as the shower suites, bedrooms, and conference rooms, you’ll have to chat with the front desk to get put on the waitlist.
Final Thoughts & Verdict: SAS Lounge Copenhagen Review
The SAS Lounge Copenhagen is one of SAS’s flagship lounges. It feels large, spacious, and Nordic. While I appreciate the furnishings and the open layout, I can’t say that the amenities were all that. Granted, I didn’t get to use them, but the only ones that would excite me would be the bedroom and the shower suites. The food, particularly the hot options, seemed to be pretty mid, although that coffee bar does a lot of heavy lifting. Truthfully, my opinion on the lounge teeters back-and-forth. That being said:
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? No. Maybe for a quick bite if you’re starving or need a spot to hunker down and work. But going out of your way? Not necessarily worth it. Conversely, there aren’t a ton of lounge options (at least when I was there), so this might be the best option you’ve got.
- What sets it apart? The design? It’s aesthetically a nicer Lufthansa Lounge, but nothing really is going to pop out and distinguish it service wise (except the coffee bar) Perhaps I need a longer experience to truly appreciate what the SAS Lounge has to offer.
