As Delta continues its expansion at Austin-Bergstrom, its 2019 opening of the Delta Sky Club has been a cornerstone of its operations at the airport. Although Delta flights can leave from the opposite end of the Barbara Jordan Terminal (which is extremely inconvenient), it is still a fantastic lounge option at the Texas capital airport. I had the opportunity to check the lounge out after my Delta Connection flight from McAllen and before my next flight to Detroit.

Today, I entered the Delta Sky Club with my American Express Platinum Card, which means I used up one of my 10 complimentary entries. Note that nobody can enter the Delta Sky Club if you’re flying in Delta Main Basic, no matter what access method you have, excluding Lifetime Sky Club members.

Atmosphere & Seating

The Delta Sky Club has a modern feel, blending contemporary vibes with traditional Texan tones, such as brown leather.

The lounge spans 9,000 square feet and has great views of ramp.

Once you enter and get past the front desk, you can turn left toward the food and dining area, or you can go right toward the bar and main seating areas.

The lounge is built out in a circular layout, with all around. It also has a second seating area where the restrooms and desk tables are for more productivity.

Behind that desk area there is even more lounge seating for guests.

Amenities

One of the most interesting amenities at the Delta Sky Club Austin is the outdoor terrace.

Delta Sky Club Austin terrace

There are several hightop seating options and outdoor sofa seats.

It got great sunlight and I wish I could say it had better views of the ramp, but unfortunately it is enclosed by fencing.

The terrace also had some TVs, and what seems like an area where a bartender would be, but it was just more open seating.

Final Thoughts & Verdict: Delta Sky Club Austin Review

The Delta Sky Club in Austin is probably the most premium lounge option at Bergstrom Airport. The finishings, the food options, and the space feels like a notch above what the United Club and Admirals Club offer. That being said, I haven’t been to the Admirals Club, and it’s been ages since I’ve been to the United Club in Austin. Now, on to the nitty gritty:

  • Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Sure. Don’t rush to get there, but if you have access, it’s a great spot to grab a bite and relax before your flight.
  • What sets it apart? Honestly, the vibes. The atmosphere is lovely, calm, and relaxing. What I’d also add is that the staff at this lounge are extremely friendly and helpful, no matter it be at the bar or asking for flight changes, the staff are ready to help you out in whatever you might need.

Overall Rating: 8.6/10
