After my business class flight from Cartagena, I had some time to spare before my connecting flight to Washington, DC. This gave me time to check out the American Airlines Admirals Club at Terminal D near Gate D15 in Miami.

Atmosphere & Seating
The American Airlines Admirals Club at D15 is one of two lounges in the terminal, and is smaller compared to the lounge at D30.
The lounge features ample seating, complemented by refreshed decor and comfortable seating.
It was quiet while I was in the lounge, which was great and contributed to a sense of calm compared to the terminal.
The areas closest to the bar and food stations were busier, but not hectic.
Food & Beverage
It had been ages since I had been inside an Admirals Club, and the last time I had access, I remember there only being cheese cubes, celery, carrots, and soup. I was pleasantly surprised to see hot food options available, even if they weren’t of the highest quality.
We of course do start off with the cold cuts, veggie sticks, and dispensable snacks.
A Mediterranean chickpea salad was available as a cold food offering, along with a quinoa and vegetable salad. Buns were also provided to put together a Cuban slider.
The hot food options offered were a cilantro chile lime chicken and pineapple plantain rice.
Soups offered during my visit were a creamy broccoli and cheddar soup and a chicken tortilla soup.
There was also a coffee station with two espresso machines and two drip coffee pumps offering Don Francisco’s decaf and regular coffee.
There were also pastries and desserts available alongside the soups. I saw cookies, macarons, and an unidentifiable pastry.
You could also order premium or house drinks to your seat via QR code.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary wifi was available, but given my quick stop, I didn’t have time to connect.
Cleanliness & Facilities
The lounge was in need of some cleaning, but I had just arrived after a rush, so I wasn’t surprised.
Amenities
The Admirals Club Miami offers two amenities that I was pleasantly surprised to see.
First, there was a quiet lounge, which, although I suppose not really an amenity, is nice to see a lounge offer such a space for guests who just want to relax for a minute.
Even more surprising were the shower suites available. For what seems to be a primarily domestic lounge, it was nice to see this amenity offered. Again, I didn’t have time to check it out, but I would go to the front desk to ask about using one.
Admirals Club Miami D15 Review Final Thoughts & Verdict
The American Airlines Admirals Club Miami at gate D15 is a fine spot to get away from hectic terminal. They offer plenty of seating and decent food options, and showers! It was in need of cleaning, but I’ll give them a pass just given the time I arrived.
I’ll also say that access to this lounge is pretty vast, with American Airlines ConciergeKey, Citi AAdvantage Executive cardholders, passengers on qualifying first and business class flights, AAdvantage Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Platinum members on international American or oneworld flights, oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members, and U.S. military personnel flying American while in uniform.
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? That depends. If you’re really in need of some food, then it offers a decent complimentary spread, but not something I’d go out of my way for. But I would try to use the showers if I had just arrived from a long flight.
- What sets it apart? Nothing really. It’s exactly what you expect to see in any US lounge that isn’t serving premium customers (think United Polaris Lounges, Delta One Lounges, or American Flagship Lounges).
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
