I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially, benefits) to write this Lufthansa Senator Lounge Munich review. Take precautions when traveling; please stay safe and consult local, state, and national authorities for guidance on traveling.
After my Lufthansa Business Class flight to Munich, I had time to spare before my connecting Lufthansa City flight to Berlin. Enter the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, a nice resting spot before taking off to the German capital. Upon entering the lounge, you’ll be directed to either the Lufthansa Business Lounge or the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, depending on your eligibility.

Atmosphere & Seating
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge has a modern and minimalistic atmosphere that provides a sense of calm.

The lounge is 900 square meters and features 150 seats, with floor-to-ceiling panorama windows, a coffee bar, a bistro area, a work area, restrooms, comfort zones, a TV lounge, and shower rooms.

Food & Beverage
On this specific day, the lounge had an American BBQ special, which was a German take on American cuisine.

I appreciated the choices, but I found it comical that I had flown across the Atlantic for American-style chicken wings.

There were other food options available.

There was also a comprehensive drink station, where you could get soft drinks, espresso drinks, juices, alcohol, and more.

There were also pastries and desserts on offer.

And other small snacks, including pretzels and other breads and soups.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary wifi was available, courtesy of Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile). I will note that I did have issues connecting, though, unsure what the cause of the difficulties were. There were also plenty of newspapers and magazines available.
Cleanliness & Facilities

The lounge overall was kept tidy and clean, and the restrooms were serviceable and in good condition. Staff regularly refresh the restrooms.
Amenities
As mentioned earlier, the lounge offers a coffee bar, bistro area, work area, restrooms, comfort zones, a TV lounge, and shower rooms. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to visit all of these amenities, but I did manage to snap some pictures of the comfort zone.

Inside this dimly lit room, you will find rest areas, where you can take a nap.

Final Thoughts & Verdict
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Munich is a great spot to grab a bite and decompress before your next flight. The amenities they have to offer are quite premium for a lounge that has fairly broad access, considering that Star Alliance Gold and Amex Platinum cardholders (on business class tickets) have access. At no point did it feel too crowded, but perhaps it was the time of day I visited.
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Perhaps. The dining experience can vary, depending on what they’re serving on any given day. While I wouldn’t go for another round of chicken wings, I’d definitely stop for a bite if I were traveling on a longer flight.
- What sets it apart? The amenities are quite impressive for the lounge. I’ll give Lufthansa tons of credit here, as I’d expect these amenities at a lounge like the United Polaris Lounge or the American Flagship Lounge.
Overall Rating: 8.4/10
