I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially, benefits) to write this Saudia Lounge London Heathrow review. Take precautions when traveling; please stay safe and consult local, state, and national authorities for guidance on traveling.
After getting to the airport from the Moxy London Heathrow, I made my way to Terminal 4 for my Air France flight to Paris. My first stop was the Saudia Lounge at London Heathrow, which I quickly discovered I was not eligible to enter, despite being a SkyTeam Elite Plus member through my Vietnam Airlines LotusMiles Platinum status. It turns out to be a dedicated Saudia Lounge, not a SkyTeam lounge. Thankfully, the super kind lounge attendant let me tour the lounge and take pics, which was a very generous gesture.

It seems like there is confusion on whether SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers can access the Saudia Lounge. As a Vietnam Airlines Platinum, I should’ve had access since I was flying with Air France, but the lovely lounge agent let me know that my credentials wouldn’t afford me access, and instead was directed to the lounge downstairs. Regardless, she let me tour the Saudia Lounge, which was very kind.
On the SkyTeam website, which doesn’t seem to have been updated, has this lounge listed as a Plaza Premium lounge and only available to Air France, Korean Air, KLM, Saudia. Perhaps it had to do with who Vietnam Airlines has a lounge partnership with for their elite and premium passengers? Furthermore, in the Plaza Premium press release and Saudia press release, both omit SkyTeam passengers, outlining that it is for First, Business, and Saudia Alfursan Gold members.
Atmosphere & Seating
Upon entering, you can just tell that it is a premium lounge. The decor, the ambiance, the lighting all seem to have been intentional.

The lounge is approximately 850 square meters with space for 174 guests. There were few guests at the time I toured, which feels like wasted space and food, but honestly it gives the lounge such a premium feel.

There was also a VIP area for what I presume are First Class passengers. If you are seated here, you are offered à la carte dining and personalized butler service during your stay.

There is also a bar area featuring bar seating and teas as part of the lounge’s partnership with the London Tea Exchange.

There was also a dining area near the buffet, where you could sit and dine.
Food & Beverage

The Saudia Lounge London Heathrow offers plenty of food for their guests, with a great variety of options.

The food options included cold and hot dishes.

Some of the hot dishes included chicken biryani, beef meatballs with ambra sauce, cauliflower in a cream sauce, what seemed like roasted potatoes, pasta in a cream sauce, and roasted carrots. Everything looked well stocked and honestly, delicious.

They also had Szechuan beef soup and aubergine veloute.

For cold food, they had appetizers like cold wraps and a chicken sandwich, cheeses, hummus, etc.

Additionally, a variety of salads and vegetables were offered.

Near the prayer rooms you could find the dessert station, where you could grab chocolate mousse, a fruit cup, etc.

Of course, you can’t forget about breads and pastries, which were plentiful. These included scones, rolls, cookies, tarts, etc.

They looked so delicious.

In addition to the bar, there was a beverage station where you could grab coffee or other soft drinks. Remember, Saudia is a dry airline, which means that no alcohol is ever served on their flights. This extends to their lounges as well.

Now if you are seated in the VIP area, you are provided à la carte dining and personalized butler service.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary WiFi was available, but I didn’t get a chance to try it.
Cleanliness & Facilities
The lounge was overall kept tidy and clean.
Amenities
The Saudia Lounge London Heathrow offers shower suites, prayer rooms, and a quiet area.

I didn’t get a chance to check out the amenities, but these are definitely premium.

Now going back to the London Tea Exchange partnership, I was very intrigued by this creative amenity that supplants the traditional bar experience at a lounge.

They have beverage menus throughout the lounge to see what teas are offered, and what other drinks and mocktails you can order during your stay.

Final Thoughts & Verdict: Saudia Lounge London Heathrow Review
The Saudia Lounge London Heathrow is probably one of the best lounges offered at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4. Since this doesn’t seem to be open to SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers, it truly is an exclusive experience for Saudia’s premium and VIP guests. The food seems to be of great quality, the amenities are what I’d like to see in any lounge, and the overall ambiance of the lounge is very exclusive and premium. That being said:
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Probably. It does seem like a great spot to grab a bite and shower before your flight. The food seems to be tasty, there is a variety, and honestly I’d love to check out the London Tea Exchange experience if I ever get the chance to enter the lounge as a guest. That being said, it isn’t a place I’d go hours in advanced for, but it definitely seems worth the detour.
- What sets it apart? The atmosphere. Saudia has, in recent years, played catch up to their regional rivals like Emirates and Qatar. While Saudia isn’t quite there yet, it has made strides to improve their in-air and on-the-ground service. While I’ll admit that this lounge probably isn’t yet at the level that you’d find at the Etihad, Qatar, or Emirates lounges at Heathrow, it is at least competitive.
Overall Rating: 9.5/10
