Following my flight in the new American Airlines Flagship Suite Preferred business class seat, and a subsequent hour and a half waiting for my checked bag, I made my way to the Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, and I’m glad I selected it for this short stay.

Arrival & Check-In

The check-in process at the Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow was complicated, as once again the system flagged me as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite, and not Titanium. While the staff were very kind and apologetic for this issue, it is a common issue I face whenever I travel to Europe, specifically the UK. However, once I presented my Marriott Bonvoy app and digital card, they manually marked me as a Titanium.

As always, I asked if a complimentary upgrade was available. As has been the case at Sheraton properties, the usual answer I receive is “yes, we’ve upgraded you to a club room,” which might mean the room is a little nicer, but rarely is there a difference. I was going to have access to the lounge regardless of the room type, so this feels like a great copout if you ask me.

Room & Features

Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow room 3035

My stay for the night was in room 3035, a king bed, deluxe guest room on the Club level.

The room had good lighting, and my first impression was that it was a very nice and sophisticated-esque room. The blue accent wall, and the general vibe of the room definitely reminded me I was in England.

In the room was a chest of drawers, a large TV, a desk area, and a loveseat sofa with an accompanying coffee table. On that table you could find a complimentary bottle of water and accompanying glass.

So as the traveler extraordinare, I completely forgot to take a travel adapter. Thankfully, the room had an AC outlet tower that had USB outlets.

Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow coffee and tea station

In the entry hall, you could find a cutout with a Nespresso machine and a kettle to make coffee or tea. Below that was a mini-fridge.

In the closet were several hangers, a laundry bag for laundry services, and an iron with an accompanying ironing board.

The restroom was pretty spacious, yet oddly laid out. Specifically, the commode pops out of the vanity area, which I’ve never seen before. There was also a bathtub shower and plenty of towels.

Dining

The Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow lists four dining options at the hotel. First is the Sports Bar & Grill, serving American cuisine, and is open every day from 12:00PM to 1:00AM. Next is Madhu’s Heathrow, serving Punjabi-Kenyan fusion, and is open every day from 5:00PM to 11:00PM. Next is Bytes Breakfast, the buffet breakfast the hotel offers, open Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 10:30AM, and from 6:00AM to 11:00AM on Saturday and Sunday. Finally, if you’re looking for something quick, you can take advantage of the coffee shop in the lobby, where they serve pastries and Starbucks coffee. This shop is open from 6:30AM until 6:30PM every day.

Bytes Breakfast

I checked out the breakfast buffet at Bytes during my stay. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, breakfast was complimentary since the Club Lounge didn’t offer breakfast service.

While I didn’t get an opportunity to snap a ton of pics of the breakfast, it was pretty comprehensive, offering your traditional English breakfast staples. This included eggs, sausage, bacon, baked beans, hashbrowns, etc. There were also fruits, cereals, oatmeal, etc. Finally, you could also ask for made-to-order items, such as omelets or fried eggs.

Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow Hotel Club Lounge Hours

Happy hour at the lounge is available every day from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, and evening snacks are available from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to check out the spread during my stay.

There are plenty of seating options throughout the lounge.

There were comfortable seats, sofas, and chairs. Some TVs were also available. It felt quite small, yet exclusive and the overall ambiance felt elevated.

Throughout my stay, you could walk into the lounge and grab some small snacks if you felt peckish during the day.

There was a mini-fridge with soft drinks, water, etc. Additionally, there was an espresso machine where you could make a coffee drink.

Finally, there were two work spaces for lounge guests looking to get some work done.

Other Amenities

Some of the amenities I didn’t manage to snap a pic of included the laundry area.

Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow Hotel conference center

However, if you’re looking to host or attend a conference here, there is a reception area for you!

Do you work for Qatar Airways? Well there is a neat office area for you here!

But on a serious note, in the center of the hotel you can find a lovely space that has greenery and plenty of natural sunlight to relax and disconnect.

Location & Accessibility

Located near London Heathrow Airport, the Sheraton Skyline can convenient for travelers with layovers, but not ideal for those seeking to explore London, as is the case with any airport hotel. Additionally, the lack of a dedicated shuttle service is quite annoying, and nobody informed me of any other options. However, it seems that you can now reserve an “E-shuttle” via WeKnow London.

Value & Redemption

At £101 a night with the AAA rate, plus complimentary lounge access thanks to my Titanium status, I found this stay to be of great value.

Final Verdict: Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow Review

The Sheraton Skyline London Heathrow really impressed me on this short two-night stay. The room, the amenities, and the spaces all felt solid, especially for an airport hotel. My only gripe was the lack of transport to and from Heathrow, but it seems that an economic option now exists.

Overall Rating: 8/10
