After a quick visit to the oneworld Lounge LAX, I made my way over to the American Express Centurion Lounge LAX before going on to visit to the American Airlines Flagship Lounge LAX. Given that the Centurion and oneworld lounges are both at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, it made sense to swing by these two first.

Atmosphere & Seating
Upon entering the lounge, I quickly noticed how crowded it was, but there was still seating around. The lounge opened in 2020 and has about 14,000 square feet of space, so it should feel spacious, but my perception was otherwise.
The lounge has plenty of seating, which includes desk space for those looking for productivity.
Pod seats that provide great privacy.
And some sofa and table options. These seating arrangements were scattered throughout the lounge.
Of course, there was the principal dining area where you could sit at a proper table to dine or work.
Now if you’re a Centurion cardholder, you can access this private area of the lounge.
It included some individual cubicle seats and some large coffee tables with large seats. That being said, I’d feel a little silly sitting in there, as it doesn’t quite feel all that premium.
Food & Beverage
I arrived at the lounge during breakfast, and they had your traditional fare out, such as chicken sausage, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, and french toast.
They also had some sort of huevos rancheros on a tostada available, which was neat.
For cold options, they had salads, fruits, pastries, avocado toast, and yogurt parfaits.
They also had multiple drink stations around the lounge, where you could get coffee, water, and tea.
There was also a secondary bar in the lounge, where you could grab drinks, alongside another drink station.
And there was also a snack station near the entrance.
Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary wifi was available and was pretty fast.
You need to use the provided password to access the network.
Cleanliness & Facilities
The lounge overall was kept tidy and clean. The restrooms were also clean, but a bit crowded. I’d definitely recommend expanding these if the lounge ever has a chance.
Amenities
The American Express Centurion Lounge LAX has two amenities that I think most travelers would appreciate.
First are the showers, located across from the restrooms. Although I didn’t get to tour one, it is always a welcome sight at any lounge, to help guests get refreshed before or after a flight. To reserve, you can talk to the front desk.
The second amenity is the dedicated rest area they have next to the Centurion area. Having a quiet room with comfortable daybeds is a godsend for folks looking to get some shut-eye or just a few minutes of peace and quiet.
It was dimly lit and quiet, and if I hadn’t woken up with tremendous energy and excitement, I might’ve appreciated this more. Definitely a fantastic amenity for any lounge.
Final Thoughts & Verdict: American Express Centurion Lounge LAX Review
The American Express Centurion Lounge LAX is a solid lounge offering its guests a solid dining experience, a comfortable space to escape the terminal, and even a spot to take a nap! That being said:
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Possibly. Don’t rush to get there, but if you have access, it’s a great spot to grab a bite and relax before your flight. It is one of the better lounge options if you have access, but I’m not willing to arrive at the airport three hours early to experience it.
- What sets it apart? Honestly, the nap room. Not many lounges offer that, and the fact that this one does is impressive. It may not be a surprise, but it is an amenity you don’t often see. Additionally, I’d venture out to say that the dining experience here is on par or better than what you can expect at the American Flagship Lounge LAX, so take that as you will.
Overall Rating: 8.2/10
