Kicking off my lounge journey at LAX is the oneworld Lounge, which I visited before making my way over to the American Express Centurion Lounge LAX and American Airlines Flagship Lounge LAX.

This lounge is jointly operated by Qantas, Cathay Pacific, and British Airways, and is operated by Qantas. I accessed the oneworld Lounge LAX thanks to my Flagship Business ticket on American from Chicago to London Heathrow. If you are a oneworld Emerald status holder, or are flying in an international first class cabin on a oneworld airline, you can use the Qantas International First Class Lounge.

Atmosphere & Seating

I had the pleasure of visiting this lounge back in 2018, and not much has changed since then. As you walk in, the lighting and design of the lounge feels a bit premium, or at the very least calming.

The lounge has plenty of seating, thanks to its close to 42,000 square feet of space. To the right side of the entrance, there is a bar space and some seating. This part of the lounge was pretty quiet and relaxing, and a little darker, giving it a calmer ambiance.

Further down is the quietest part of the lounge, where a circular sort of fireplace or design sits.

Around the lounge you’ll find more seating, including tables, desk space, loungers, etc.

The lounge was also very well lit, letting in indirect sunlight from the terminal.

It was a tastefully decorated lounge, giving it a premium feel throughout.

Along one of the windows that peers into the terminal, you could find loungers that would let you stretch out and relax.

There were various levels of lighting throughout the lounge, giving folks options.

There was also a business center where you could take a seat and work in a semi-private cubicle. A printer was also available.

Some sofa seating was also available.
Food & Beverage
The main buffet area is toward the back of the lounge. I arrived during breakfast, and they had your traditional fare out, such as muesli, yogurt, and berries alongside breads.
They also had other fruits and cereals available.

For hot options, they had scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage, frittata, and tater tots.

They also had multiple drink stations around the lounge, where you could get coffee, water, juice, and tea.

There were espresso machines and Coca-Cola dispensers for additional soft drinks.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity
Complimentary wifi was available and worked well.
Cleanliness & Facilities
The lounge overall was kept tidy and clean. The restrooms were also clean.

Although I will say the restroom felt dated and a bit dungeon-y.

Amenities
The oneworld Lounge LAX’s primary amenity is the available shower suites.

Located toward the back of the lounge on the left-hand side, these are available to all guests. To reserve, you can speak to the front desk attendant and they’ll help you out.

I had the chance to check out a suite that had just been refreshed. It included a toilet, shower, and sink. Additional towels are likely provided by staff.

Last but not least, there are screens showing departures throughout the lounge, which is a nice touch to help you stay informed about your flight’s departure time and gate.
Final Thoughts & Verdict: oneworld Lounge LAX Review
The oneworld Lounge LAX is a solid business class lounge offering oneworld customers an opportunity to relax before what is likely to be a long-haul flight to Asia or Europe. That being said:
- Is it worth arriving early to visit this lounge? Not really. Unless this is your only meal opportunity before your flight, or you plan to have a drink, I wouldn’t rush over. There isn’t anything spectacular about the lounge that warrants going out of your way for it. That being said, it might be on par in terms of dining and comfort with the Flagship Lounge LAX, so if you had to choose between one or the other, flip a coin.
- What sets it apart? Honestly, not much. It is large, spacious, and feels premium, but that’s just about it. It’s not a knock on the lounge; I truly enjoyed my visit. But there isn’t a special perk or amenity that sets this lounge in a different tier from the others.
Overall Rating: 8.2/10
