I have not been compensated in any way (financially or otherwise) to write this SkyTeam Lounge Sao Paulo review. Airport, airline, lounge, hotel, and loyalty program policies may have changed since the time of writing.

After visiting the American Express Lounge in Terminal 3, I made my way to Terminal 2’s international side to be closer to my American Airlines flight over to Miami. Interestingly, while Star Alliance shuttered their lounge at Guarulhos, SkyTeam has maintained an alliance lounge through a contracted partner, The Lounge.

Atmosphere & Seating

Upon arriving, you will be greeted at the check-in desk where you provide your credentials and enter. For any questions regarding Wi-Fi, showers, or other amenities, you can ask the staff at the front desk. The lounge is 700 square meters with seating for 180 guests. There are several seating areas around the lounge, which is itself well-lit, with windows that I am sure let in incredible sunlight.

SkyTeam Lounge Sao Paulo dining area

To the right after entering the main lounge area, there is a dining area that has a few tables and high-top tables. There is a food area with cold and hot options, although the hot options seemed to have been sitting out there a while.

SkyTeam Lounge Sao Paulo seating

To the left are oversized lounge chairs, which were fairly comfortable. More of these seats were scattered throughout the long lounge. There were additional seating areas toward the rear of the lounge near some of the conference rooms, but I didn’t snap pics since they were completely occupied.

Next to the fruit was also a coffee machine, which could whip up some espresso drinks. Not pictured was the hot food, which was kept warm in an oven sort of device. The food was unappetizing.

There is also a full-service bar, which went un-staffed during my visit.

SkyTeam Lounge São Paulo Review Verdict

The SkyTeam Lounge at São Paulo Terminal 2 is a nice refuge from the hectic areas of the terminal, offering SkyTeam’s premium members a decent spot to relax. I believe one of the most important things to know about a lounge is whether it is worth going out of your way or getting to the airport early to visit it, and this one doesn’t hit the mark. It is a nice lounge, but definitely not something you go out of your way for.

Overall Rating: 6.8/10
