I have not been paid by any entity in any way (financially, benefits) to write this Courtyard Prague City review. Any airport, airline, lounge, hotel, and or loyalty program policies may have changed since then.
The Courtyard Prague City was an affordable Marriott Bonvoy property in Prague, despite it being slightly removed from the frequented areas of the city. Thanks to the metro station in a nearby mall, it was easy to get around. After staying at the JW Marriott Berlin, I knew that the Courtyard was a downgrade, but it was a perfectly serviceable hotel.

Overview
Built in 2006 and seemingly stuck in that year, the Courtyard Prague City is a convenient hotel in Prague that is situated in the Flora neighborhood of Prague, I think in the Prague 3 district? It features 161 rooms across eight floors, and is caddy-corner to the Atrium Flora, a major shopping mall that is connected to the Flora metro station. It is also about a one minute walk away from the Olšany Cemetery.

Just don’t mistake this hotel for the closely named Courtyard by Marriott Prague Airport, which is obviously located at the airport.
Arrival & Check-In
I arrived following my CD EuroCity trip, and took an Uber from the train station to the hotel in the morning. Check-in took a few more minutes than I expected due to a line at the front desk, which I assume was caused by people checking out.

The lobby looked great, and had water available for guests.

Upon providing my passport to the staff, they recognized my Platinum elite status, but as is the case at Courtyard hotels in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, not many benefits were included. Really, the only benefits I received were a late check-out and 500 points. Since it was a busy week, no upgrades were available, but not an issue for the short stay.
Room & Features

On this trip, I was booked into room 810. The room was a spacious king bedroom that featured a loveseat sofa, but I can’t imagine this hotel having been renovated or refreshed since 2006. The bed was a king-size bed, but it felt worn. Oddly enough, my tired body didn’t quite care, but it could’ve been firmer.

There was a desk area with the TV, a closet, and storage drawers. Next to the closet was a luggage rack.

The room also featured a Nespresso-capable machine, with coffee pods, teas, and cups. There was also a kettle, mugs, and glasses available. A mini-fridge was also provided.

The restroom was very basic and, in fact, reminded me of a Courtyard I’d previously stayed at in the States. There was a hair dryer provided and even more glasses.

There was a shower and bathtub combo, with terrible water pressure.

The view from the room wasn’t any better, with a view of the enclosed courtyard.
Dining & Room Service

The Courtyard Prague City features The Farmers’ Market Bar & Grill as its on-site restaurant, serving classic Czech cuisine. It is open Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 10:30AM for their breakfast buffet, and they reopen from 11:30AM to 10:00PM for lunch and dinner service. On the weekends, they open from 7:00AM to 11:00AM for breakfast and reopen from 12:00PM to 10:00PM for lunch and dinner.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to experience the restaurant during this stay. Additionally, the Courtyard Prague City does not offer any room service.

However, if you’re looking for something quick or grab-and-go, the Courtyard offers The Market, where you can buy snacks, soft drinks, and coffee.
Amenities & Facilities
Fitness Center

The fitness center offers a very basic lineup of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. Towels are provided.
Location & Accessibility
As I mentioned earlier, the Courtyard Prague City is situated in the Flora neighborhood of Prague, which I believe is in the Prague 3 district. The most convenient metro station is the Flora metro station, which is attached to the Atrium Flora shopping mall. There are also great spots to go walk or eat near the hotel, but I didn’t get to explore much. I did manage to get a good coffee nearby at two dots coffee & pastries.

Value & Redemption
I booked the Courtyard Prague City for 5,099 CZK, which translates to approximately $243 USD. Despite the hotel’s dated facilities, it is in a great location, is convenient, and was cheaper than other Marriott Bonvoy hotels in the city in relation to their distance from the attractions. Given those facts, I thought it was the best choice for my travel needs.
Final Verdict: Courtyard Prague City
The Courtyard Prague City provided me with the essentials I needed for a comfortable stay in the Czech capital. It didn’t wow me in any way, and is definitely in need of a refurbishment. Also, given the lack of benefits for Platinum members at Courtyard hotels in the U.S. and Europe, I’d exhaust my other options before booking this hotel again.
On the other hand, it is conveniently located, near a great metro stop and shopping center. There are plenty of things to do near the hotel, and it was fairly priced compared to some of the other Marriott Bonvoy properties. It really depends on what you’re looking for and what your needs are.
Overall Rating: 7.25/10
